The University of Edinburgh
are hosting a one day symposium on ‘The Science of Suppression’ on Wed
9th November, in the auditorium at the National Museum of Scotland, Chambers
Street, Edinburgh.

The symposium will feature the 3rd Philip Thomas Lecture, presented by
Ronald L. Alpert, one of the pioneers of suppression and detection science.

Other speakers are confirmed from BRE (UK), FM Global (USA), CSTB (France),
IFAB (Germany) and the University of Maryland (USA). Two further speakers will
hopefully be announced shortly.

The symposium fee is only £100 and includes a printed proceedings. There is an
optional buffet lunch at a nearby restaurant (venue TBC).

The symposium will also give you an excellent excuse to visit the newly
refurbished National Museum of Scotland (formerly the Royal Museum).
